School Eye Health
Education has the potential to change individuals’ lives and fuel social transformation.
There is a strong link between students’s health, including their visual health, and the quality of their learning and achievements at school.
This, in turn, affects children’s future quality of life and economic productivity. School eye health programs provide a unique opportunity to deliver comprehensive eye health services to school-going children.
Contact Lens Fitting
At First Eye Clinic, now Forst Eye Clinic, we pride ourselves in being able to fit a variety of contact lenses from the most popular daily disposable contact lenses to custom-made contact lenses.
Many people have been told that they cannot wear contact lenses for various reasons such as they have astigmatism or dry eye. Our optometrist have the knowledge and technology available to almost everyone to wear contact lenses.
There is no age limit for wearing contact lenses and anyone who is willing is able to try.
Glaucoma Screening
Glaucoma is a chronic, asymptomatic and painless disease condition which gradually and progressively diminish vision, and if not detected early enough, can lead to eventual blindness.
It is therefore important to have a screening criteria for this entity, to find patients in their initial stage, because glaucomatous damage to the eyes is irreversible.
We have a comprehensive glaucoma screening routine our patients undergo, which helps us to track any possible presence of glaucomatous damage and subsequently work towards halting its effect.
Industrial Vision Screening
This aspect of visual screening is essential due to the critical relationship between visual activities and job efficiency.
This involves sensitization on occupational visual hazards, recommendations or prescription of protective or correctional devices, initiation of safety programs and the appropriate referral to a consulting optometrist in the event of any detected eye conditions that requires more comprehensive eye examination.
Driver's Vision Screening
Safe driving begins with a vision screening test. One of the most important things you can do as a driver is to go for an annual driving vision test.
This test determines whether your eyesight and peripheral vision meets the required driving standard, to safely operate a motor vehicle.
We ensure that your eyes are healthy for the road, so you can drive in safety.
Community Eye Health
This is a low budget program organised by primary eye care professionals in a community of target, during which members of the community receive free eye examination, glasses and drugs.
Appropriate referral to a consulting optometrist is also done, when any eye condition which requires more clinical investigation is detected.
